ok, the next part is going to be the pot.and, i am going to paint a more of an ornamental rounded pot than the pot in that photograph.so, i need to do yellow ocher. but, before i do that, i am going to need to get the cleanwater and do a wet and wet for the whole operation. laying down water. and then, with the yellowocher. we are going to start in the darkest areas. when you first put your brush down,it is going to have more paint on it. so, that is when you hit the darkest areas andthen you work towards the lightest areas. to get to the point where you need to get,take water out of the brush. stick your brush in about an eighth of an inch. wipe it out.and then, continue to do that. just take more color out and this side is going to be shinier.and now, while it is wet and wet i am going
to start working in more color. first off,i am going to work in burnt sienna, i mean, burnt umber. that gives it sort of an agedlook.

An attractive species with slender leaves and a graceful semi-pendant spike of vivid red berries. Slender, deep green leather leaves form a loose upright rosette about 18in tall. An interesting species that in nature has a close relationship with ants. According to Benzing, the seeds resemble the pupae of ants, and are collected by arboreal ant species and placed in the nest where they germinate. Self pollinating, and fruits regularly. Beautiful strings of red seeds hang from the plant most of the year. Grows in shade.

This species is a typical member of section Porphyrochitonium despite its erroneous placement in section Leptanthurium by Engler (1905). The species is most easily confused with smaller specimens of A. ramonense but that species has a much stouter peduncle and the inflorescence is either held semierect or, if it is pendent, it is held stiffly downward and outward, not hanging loosely as in the case of A. acutangulum. In addition, the pistils of A. ramonense are not at all raised, the exposed portion being markedly squared and violet-purple. In A. acutangulum the pistils are green, appear somewhat rounded, and are promptly raised well above the tepals, giving the spadix a weakly knobby appearance.

The arums comprise the Family Araceae (including the numerous aroids subfamily): monocotyledonous flowering plants in which flowers are borne on a type of inflorescence called a spadix. The spadix is usually accompanied by, and sometimes partially enclosed in, a spathe or leaf-like hood. This family of 107 genera and over 3700 species is most diverse in the New World tropics, although also distributed in the Old World tropics and north temperate regions. Recent genetic research by the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group has shown that the duckweeds, previously treated in a separate family Lemnaceae, also belong in the Araceae. In monoecious aroids (possessing separate male and female flowers, but with both flowers present on one plant), the spadix is usually organized with female flowers towards the bottom and male flowers towards the top. In aroids with perfect flowers the stigma is no longer receptive when the pollen is released, thus preventing self-fertilization. There are also some dioecious species. Anthurium and Zantedeschia are two well-known members of this family, as are Colocasia esculenta (taro) and Xanthosoma roseum (Elephant ear or ‘ape). Among the largest inflorescence in the world is that of the arum, Amorphophallus titanum (Titan arum). This family includes a great many ornamental plants: Dieffenbachia, Aglaonema, Caladium, Nephthys, and Epipremnum, to name a few. In the genus Cryptocoryne are many popular aquarium plants. Both Taro and Monstera deliciosa provide food value (the fruit of Monstera deliciosa called "Mexican breadfruit"). Philodendron is an important plant in the ecosystems of the rainforests and is often used in home and interior decorating. Symplocarpus foetidus (skunk cabbage) is a common North American species. A interesting peculiarity is that this family includes the largest unbranched inflorescence, that of the titan arum, often erroneously called the "largest flower" and the smallest flowering plant and smallest fruit, found in the duckweed, Wolffia. Many plants in this family are thermogenic (heat-producing). Their flowers can reach up to 45 degrees Celsius even when the surrounding air temperature is much lower. One reason for this unusually high temperature is to attract insects (usually beetles) to pollinate the plant, rewarding the beetles with heat energy. Another reason is to prevent tissue damage in cold regions. Some examples of thermogenic Araceae are: Symplocarpus foetidus (eastern skunk cabbage), Amorphophallus titanum (Titan Arum), Amorphophallus paeoniifolius (elephant foot yam), Helicodiceros muscivorus (dead hforse arum lily) and Sauromatum venosum (voodoo lily). Species such as Titan Arum and the dead horse arum give off a very pungent smell, often resembling a rotten animal. This is to attract flies to pollinate the plant. Anthurium (Schott, 1829), is a large genus of about 600- 800 (possibly 1,000) species, belonging to the arum family (Araceae). It is the largest and probably the most complex genus of this family. Many species are undoubtedly not described yet and new ones are being found every year. They grow in the most diverse habitats, mostly in wet tropical mountain forest of Central America and South America, but some in semi-arid environments. Most species occur in Panama, Colombia, Brazil, the Guiana Shield and Ecuador. According to the work of noted aroid botanist Dr. Tom Croat of the Missouri Botanical Garden, this genus is not found in Asia. Anthurium grows in many forms, mostly evergreen, bushy or climbing epiphytes with roots that often hang from the canopy all the way to the floor of the rain forest.
